Just Give Me Jesus
It was so wonderful to get the chance to attend a life changing revival, "Just Give Me Jesus" sermon by Anne Graham Lots. Last night, I typed an entry. I complained about this world, such an unlikable, ugly and distorted world. However, my frustration was resolved right away just in the very beginning of the sermon. It was so lovely to hear hundreds or even thousands of women's singing to worship Jesus. No matter what color we are, no matter how old we are, no matter we can see or not, hear or not, we all praise our Jesus with one heart. Believe me or not, I have never heard such lovely sounds without any fancy effect. It was equally lovely to see those women who use sign + body langauge to praise our Lord. I thank you, Lord. You have heard me. You have given me your eyes, your ears and your heart tonight to see how beautiful the human being can become once we turn our faces back to you and praise you with all our heart.
From this meaningful sermon, I have received many messages. Let me just share the one which touched me the deepest. The bible said the soldiers arrested Jesus and bound him. (John 18: 12-13). In many different places of the bible describe how powerful Jesus' hands could become. His hands commanded the water to become silent; his hands healed the sick, the blind, and even the dead; his hands preached thousands of people who were spiritually thirsty; his hands also cleared the temple and displayed the dark side of the Jewish leaders. Anne said, "but the hand of the creating God was bound." Jesus could choose to use his powerful hands to send all those soldiers to hell, but he didn't. He chose to be bound. Anne also said,"He intended to go to the cross; he intended to fix the human heart."
In our lives, we may be bound by many different things. Parents are bound by their children. Students are bound by their study. Adults are bound by their job. Patients are bound by the hospital bed. Lovers are bound by their partners. Anne said, "the world of bounding can become the world of God." It is no longer suffocating because God knows how we feel. He holds the key to un-bind it, and he has given us the key. With such a thankful heart, I pray God will give me another productive working day tml.
